Q&A
Q What is design?
A Design is the process of elaborating an outline for one or more solutions to a given problem. Given information about the problem as documented in the artifacts of analysis, a design would embody the best solution for that problem.
Q Are the artifacts of design nonprogramming models?
A Yes. Although programming activities during construction are based on design models, the design models themselves aren't programming models. This distinction gives the flexibility to explore different solutions without prematurely committing lots of costly resources to any specific one.
Q Why is object-oriented programming a discovery-oriented process?
A The most fundamental reason lies in the complicated human requirements of computers. Humans expect computers to mimic not only complex human behavior but also even more complex human thinking.
Q What is a subsystem?
A An application component composed of one to many classes whose object instances interact with each other to carry out a common application behavior.
